For all those who adore dinosaurs and are fascinated by technology, Pleo is the greatest toy ever created. It is a lot more than a common remote control one, acting more like a pet than just a toy. He is very responsive to his surroundings and ready to learn from external stimuli, just like a dog or a cat. With a camera in his head, microphones for ears and sensors in his feet, not to mention the motors which allow him to move about like a true prehistoric creature, he can become a delightful flatmate to any of you.

As he is as sensitive as a pet, you will have to be careful not to hurt him. If you do, he will react accordingly, by limping for a while. If treated with care, Pleo will develop a nice personality and become good company. As you play with him, Pleo will progress through three stages of development, from hatchling to juvenile. The training leaf, which he loves taking into his mouth, is the kind of food he needs daily. You will see how contentedly he will purr any time he gets it. However, if you deny him food for long, he will start to wail and let you know of his feelings.

This robotic life form has been endowed with two 32-bit microprocessors for central and image processing as well as four 8-bit sub-processors for motor control.
